In Microsoft Windows, pressing print screen will capture the entire screen, while pressing the alt key in combination with print screen will capture the currently selected window. This can include shapes and pictures that appear on a display screen as well as less tangible software entities. Generally, any item that can be individually selected and manipulated. Rich text, as opposed to plain text, has styling information beyond the minimum of semantic elements: colours, styles (boldface, italic), sizes and special features (such as hyperlinks).
